The fees were similar to those of previous ICMPCs with the usual discounts for students, early birds and citizens of economically disadvantaged countries. Registration fees were charged in national currency. They covered the programme booklet, lunch and coffee breaks.
External passive participants could follow live streams from anywhere, and could also participate in written discussions. They were asked to prove their status as students, researchers or journalists and sign a written confidentiality agreement.
Active remote participants were researchers who presented a prepared video but did not attend a hub. This included researchers with limited mobility due to disability, caring responsibilities, political restrictions (travel ban, visa problems) or financial restrictions (residents of developing countries). These presentations were reviewed twice: first as an abstract and then as a video draft.
